[this is good]
Too cute! Did Fuzzy Squirrel kiss the cow or try to eat it's ear?
hmm... tastes like chicken! (I know; I just couldn't help myself...)
You know, I couldn't tell if the squirrelio was sniffing the cow's ear or tasting it or even if the squirrelio was whispering some sort of warning to the cow. Cow looked a little nervous though.

Hahahahahahahaha....thanks lots and lots!!!
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL....very good!!!! Sounds like something I would say!!

Thanks lots and lots!!!
I know it does! ;P
You know me too well!!! : - )
oh, it was just a guess!

btw, the squirrel's tail looks just like a bottle brush in this shot...
Most of the squirrels around here bald spots on their tails that look rather odd. They have oddly shaped ears too. I'm guessing at least some of these characteristics are genetic. This one does have a rather floofy tail!!
That's really interesting - and I have to wonder if there's more than one species
in your area?

It's amazing how many true rabbit species there are, even in the East. (By "true," I mean cottontails, not hares.) There's even an endangered species known as the New England Cottontail... I used to think all of them were the same (and they *look* the same to me), but evidently not.

Speaking of which, I just found a link to a huge squirrel site...

OMGosh, thanks so much for both links!!!

I used to think the same thing about rabbits. I knew hares were different than rabbits but didn't realize there were so many species.

All the squirrels around my house are grey with red highlights. I'll have to do some research to find out if there are actually different species of gray squirrels here.

Thanks again for the links!!!
Hope you enjoy them - the squirrel site is a little crazy, though. (Layout.)

You know, our domestic rabbits are a completely different species than any of the rabbits in the Western Hemisphere - something else that I didn't know until I started doing researh/reading before adopting Her N-ness.
Hahahahahaha....I noticed the layout, but at least the graphic is interesting!!

I learned so much about our bunner friends after joining VOX and reading about them here and on the Flickr "Bunny Lovers Unite" group. I really love all the great photos on your blog!!! They always make me smile!!
Why thank you! Though really, I'm just a very small part of a much bigger group (the BLU pool on Flickr, I mean, though it's also true of house rabbit fans as a whole).

Did you know that there's an MO House Rabbit Society chapter near you?
OMGosh....NO!!! I had no idea there was a MO House Rabbit Society near me!! That's so cool!! I'll check that out!!!

Thanks again!!!

yeps - let me show u it:

Happy Dance!!!! Thanks so much!!!
My pleasure. I thought you might already know about it, which is the only reason I hadn't mentioned it before...
Awwwwwwwww...thanks so much!! I didn't know. Maybe I can do some volunteer work for them or maybe take photos for them to post on their site. That would be so much fun!!

I have always been very allergic to bunners, which is why I don't have one now, but maybe if I go there and handle some I can see if I'm still allergic. Even if I am still allergic I could stand it long enough do some volunteer work. : - )

Just curious - how do you know you're allergic? Is it maybe the hay they eat that you're allergic to, rather than their dander?
In the past, any time I got near bunnies my eyes swelled and itched really bad and I got all stuffed up.

I have really bad allergies in general and already take allergy meds every day, so that doesn't seem to be an option if I'm still allergic to them, but I'd like to try being around the rescue buns to see if I can.
you're right; that doesn't sound good - but you might want to give it a go and see.

Where have you been around rabbits in the past - in a barn, maybe, or at an agricultural show, or...??? If that's the case, it might not be rabbit dander/fur that's causing the problem.
Actually, the allergic reaction has happened while I was shopping and have inadvertently touched rabbit fur trim on a coat or sweater. I would never wear a rabbit fur trimmed anything!!!

They seem like so much fun....such rascals. I would love to have one. Volunteering at a rabbit rescue would be the perfect way to find out if I'm still that allergic. I couldn't bare to bring one home and then not be able to keep it. I would feel so bad, like I abandoned the poor thing.

I know it's probably silly, wishful thinking to think I might NOT be so allergic, but there's no harm in trying, and I'd love to do something to help.

When I'm job searching I tend to hole up until I make the job happen, which isn't all that healthy. I need to get out and do things once n awhile just to feel good.
Hmm... that might not have anything to do with the fur itself. Could be chemicals (or other things) used to process it. (Yikes!)

I definitely agree that it's worth trying!
